‘Kid Chemist’ creates hands-on learning opportunities for kids
A few years ago Zahraa Mougnieh was struggling with chemistry in college. She figured out a way to teach herself the concepts. That sparked an idea: why not teach kids chemistry too, to give them an early start? She began teaching her neices. Then she opened Kid Chemist, a learning program for kids to get an early introduction to chemistry. Along with the subject, she offers tutoring services in all subjects, provides fall, spring, and summer camps, and has field trips.
During the pandemic, Mougnieh had to temporarily move her services online. But that didn’t stop her from growing her business. In October 2021, she resumed in-person classes.
