President Biden visited Michigan voters this week
President Joe Biden came to Michigan on Thursday to meet with voters, making stops in Warren, Mich., and Hazel Park. Earlier in the day, Arab American leaders held a press conference in Dearborn to share their frustration with the president’s lack of calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. Over 26,000 people have been killed in Palestine by Israel since the Oct. 7th attack, in which 1,200 Israelis were killed by Hamas. Biden says Israel has a right to defend itself.
Biden also issued an executive order that targeted violent settlers in the West Bank the same day, issuing sanctions on individuals. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the sanctions were not necessary in a statement.
A lawsuit was filed in a California federal court against the Biden administration and officials to ask them to stop Israel’s bombing of Gaza. The judge did not rule on the matter, however, he told the Biden administration to prevent genocide.
