Mango season is upon us
It’s time to ‘mango’ with these four South Asian-inspired treats
Kulfi Pudding: Zehra Allibhai is a fitness coach. She shares this mango kulfi chia seed pudding, that’s filling and gives you summer frozen ice cream or kulfi vibes with the richness of a thick pudding. Chia seeds are a source of fiber and help promote heart health while reducing cholesterol. You can enjoy a sweet treat without the guilt.
Mango Saffron Tart Cake: Deeba Rajpal is a cookbook author, blogger, and food photographer. So what you see is more than meets the eye. If you’re looking for something savory and aesthetically pleasing, here’s something to make for your next gathering - a mango saffron tart cake.
Mango Lassi Mousse: Rifath Ahmed began creating fusion foods with her company Sweets & Saffron in Houston in October 2020. She’s this mango lassi mousse recipe as an ode to the mango lassis her father made for her and her brother growing up.
Sticky rice with mangoes: Another crowd favorite is sticky rice with milk and mangoes. It’s something I grew up eating as a kid, especially during Ramadan. You can have it hot or cold but be prepared to take a nap after.
