Rising Voices hosts ‘Feast of Resistance’ Potluck
The nonprofit Rising Voices is celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a gathering. The ‘Feast of Resistance’ is a potluck featuring Asian American storytelling through food and community. The nonprofit works to organize and civically engage Asian American women and families. People can bring a dish to share Saturday, May 20 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Corktown. The event will be from 12-3 p.m. RSVP Here.
April showers bring May Flowers to Eastern Market
If you’re looking for a place to pick up your flower planters, head over to the Eastern Market in Detroit for Flower Day on Sunday, May 21. Flowers will be from vendors who are a part of the Metro Detroit Flower Growers Association. Additional flower days will be held through the end of the month on Tuesdays, and Saturdays throughout Flower Season. The flowers are held in Shed 6.
