Marina Tabassum is an architect, who focuses on community impact designs and sustainability. She also creates altruistic buildings, using nature to build her designs. Now she’s been named one of TIME’s 100 influential people in 2024 for her work. Her projects have included building mobile homes that cater to communities susceptible to heavy flooding in Bangladesh.
Buffalo Bangladeshi community mourns two fatally shot
Abu Yusuf and Babul Meah went to work at a home in Buffalo, when they were randomly fatally shot by a squatter, someone who lives in a home without paying rent or without permission. The men were scheduled to perform maintenance tasks inside the home.
Now the Bangladeshi community in Buffalo is mourning the loss of the two men, one who leaves behind seven children.
