Bengali New Year is just around the corner. Local student organizations are hosting a Boishakhi Mela next week. Boishakhi is the Bengali New Year, celebrated by the Bengali diaspora. This cultural holiday is celebrated across Bangladesh and India.
Michigan State University, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, and Wayne State University Bangladeshi Student Associations are hosting this Boishakhi Mela with Violets next week. The event will take place on April 12 at the Napa Glen Banquet Hall in Troy. Free with registration, or $5 at the door.
