An Ohio man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to harm immigrants in Hamtramck
Last Saturday the Hamtramck Police Department was alerted by the Toledo Police Department of a possible threat from an Ohio man who wanted to harm immigrants in Hamtramck, according to Hamtramck Police Chief Jamiel Altaheri.
“There was a person, individual, that made threats against the residents, towards the residents of Hamtramck immigrant residents, and that he wants to take them out. So we interpret taking them out meaning kill them or inflict bodily harm against our residents,” he says.

“Thanks to our partnership with the various local and state law enforcement authorities, we were able to detect his location, and he was actually driving into Michigan and was apprehended and arrested by the Taylor Police Department,” he says.
Last Saturday, Hamtramck hosted the Hamtramck Neighborhood Arts Festival and Night Bazaar. Altaheri says there were additional police officers on hand to keep people safe.
“We also had our reserves, who volunteer their time, and we're very grateful to them. We also we utilized all our camera systems just to make sure we keep an eye on the community and keep them safe,” he says.
The suspect, William Dorocha, was returned to Ohio and is now facing charges of Making Terroristic Threats.
